This is the page for people who are looking for assistance or accompaniment on a journey that they are either already on, or are looking to begin. Organisation and management are things that I find really satisfying and enjoyable, and love that my skills can be used to assist in making someone else's creative dreams come true. 

I have a very eclectic professional and educational background. I have undertaken university courses in Theatre studies, Interior Architecture and Fine Arts. I have worked in most areas of theatre, from set building and dressing to box office and directing. I also work on events, concerts and festivals, which require quite a different set of skills to traditional theatre roles. I have found my ability to be flexible, empathetic and have confidence in my decision making even more crucial in these less structured roles. 

My extensive experience in diverse areas allows me to see projects and events from many different angles, and to effectively problem solve issues before they arise. It also allows me to empathise and understand the roles of people I work with, something I have found to be extremely valuable. Everyone should appreciate the challenges their workmates face, and therefore be able to be more effective in how you can assist or work in relation to them.

I began my career as a technician, and have really enjoyed these roles, but I am glad to be moving on to management positions. I love being on the ground and problem solving the unexpected problems as a stage manager, or over viewing the entire production and watching all of the carefully prepared pieces falling into place. Good organisation feels like conducting an orchestra, and when you get it right you can achieve some really beautiful results that leave everyone involved feeling good.

The one technical area that I am hoping to further my knowledge in is rigging and stage mechanics.
I would find having this kind of knowledge extremely useful as I continue stage managing, especially as I am working with an increasing number circus companies.
